Trebon Beats Lance at Cross Vegas

Once again, the hands down highlight of Interbike 2008 was Cross Vegas. And once again, Kona's Ryan Trebon rode away from the field of the nation's top cross racers including seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong. The Interbike trade show was abuzz all week long with rumors that Armstrong would race at Cross Vegas, and the crowds turned out en masse to see how he would stack up. Lance hung tough but was essentially out of the race from the starting gun as Trebon and company pinned it and rode away.

The returne of Lance Armstrong

For somebody who likes winning as much as Lance Armstrong, the last three seasons must have been pretty frustrating.He called it a day after his seventh Tour de France victory but had the Texan chosen to continue, then who's to say he wouldn't have amassed an unbroken run of 10 wins by now.
Without any doubt he would have been more than a match for Landis in 2006, he'd have beaten Rasmussen and Contador in the time trials 12 months later and Sastre's race winning effort up Alpe d'Huez this year was a couple of minutes slower than Armstrong's own win on the mountain.
The Texan quit the sport because he had nothing else to prove, he could win the Tour pretty much unchallenged but there was no let up in his battle with media over allegations of doping. He never failed a test and constantly denied any wrongdoing, but it was pressure he could do without.
Now, at 37, he's decided to return to the sport with his first race, the Tour of California, less than five months away. Lance is responsible for the most famous comeback in any sport, he likes a challenge and he loves the limelight. He's coming back simply because he can.This week we ask what the world of professional cycling thinks of Armstrong's comeback, and look at who stands to win and lose from it. Το γερμανικό ομοσπονδιακό γραφείο για την ασφάλεια των πληροφοριών αναφέρει ότι ο νέος browser της Google, o Chrome, δεν θα πρέπει να χρησιμοποιείται από τους γερμανούς χρήστες του Internet κατά τη διάρκεια της περιήγησής τους στο Internet. Το πρόβλημα, είναι ότι αν ο Chrome συνδυαστεί με τις υπηρεσίες Email και αναζήτησης της Google, μπορεί να δώσει πάρα πολλά δεδομένα σχετικά με τους χρήστες.
Η κυβέρνηση επίσης είπε ότι θα πρέπει να αποφευχθεί η χρήση του γιατί επίσης είναι σε beta. Η αλήθεια είναι ωστόσο ότι οι Γερμανοί μισούν την Google γιατί όπως η Microsoft με τα Windows και η Apple με το iTunes, είναι μία μεγάλη αμερικάνικη εταιρία που είναι τόσο δημοφιλής ώστε να φτάνει στα όρια του μονοπωλίου. Έτσι, ο Chrome είναι της Google και θα πρέπει να αποφεύγεται, ο Internet Explorer είναι της Microsoft, ο Safari είναι της Apple και ο Firefox της Mozilla που χρησιμοποιεί λεφτά της Google. Τι έμεινε? Μα φυσικά ο Opera που κατασκευάζεται στην Ευρώπη.
